The
Morning Get Together |
I
arrived in Burbank on friday March 8, 2002 at 6:10pm. I was excited about
doing the rounds with Larry Lord and crew. This was my first Southern Cali
cruise I have ever done. On March 9, 2002 I headed out to Western Ave and
Victory. There I would meet BatCliff and some 20 other Prowlers. It was
great!! |
Boyd's
Parking Lot |
After
we leave the Chevron station on Western Ave. and Victory we head out to
interstate 5 south and head out to Boyd's Hot Rod Shop. We ended up
getting lost and did not know where exactly the shop was at. We went
around in circles trying to figure out where this place was. It was cool
going in circles because you got to back track and see the lineup of
Prowlers following each other. Very Cool!! |
Boyd's
Show Room |
The
show room was amazing. There were some pretty cool classic rods I have
never seen before. I was expecting to see more but under the
circumstances, it was a great experiance. The show room was very neat and
clean. Everything looked very professional. I enjoyed myself in there. |
Boyd's
Work Shop |
I
was anxious to see Boyd's work shop. Some pretty amazing hot rods have
come out of there. The shop was SUPER clean and you could tell Boyd was
about attention to detail. The paint jobs were awesome and the chassis
welds looked perfect. Really cool!! |
The
Prowler Enthusiasts |
There
were many new faces I had never seen before. It is amazing to see the
quality of people who purchase these CATS. The hearts of the people is
HUGH. Willing to do anything for their fellow prowler owner. Almost feels
like family or better at times. Thank you all for your support in Souther
Cali. |
The Prowler
Cruise |
The
cruise was an interesting one for me. I had run out of gas and needed to
refuel before heading out to cruise. I ended up going ahead of the pack to
put some fuel but ended up getting confused on directions. There were so
many Prowler at Boyd's that keeping track of all of them was difficult.
This intern made Prowler enthusiasts head out in groups of 10 or 15. I was
still putting fuel while I saw the packs leaving. I was nervous about
loosing them because I did not know my way around. It all worked out in
the end. |
The
Restaurant |
The
restaurant that was picked was excellent. The food was awesome. I had the
filet mignon and it tasted GREAT! It was amazing to see the number of
Prowler owners getting together in one harmonious place. The day ended by
doing some burnouts in a near by Chevron station. George Carter was the
first one to do some burnouts and then I followed suit. I had a GREAT
TIME... Thank you Larry Lord and the rest of the Southern Cali
group. |
